MATCHA KOMOREBI | 木漏れ日 | 1 lb.

Komorebi translates to ’the sunlight that filters through the trees’ and we believe this describes the poetic spirit of this fine - and bountiful - offering.

We are delighted to share the eagerly-anticipated arrival of our exceptional garden direct, 2023 harvest from Kiyoharu Tsuji of Tsujiki Matcha in Shirakawa, Uji, Kyoto.

It is a pleasure to share with you just how special - and different - matcha made with Tsuji’s level of care and quality can be: vibrant, fresh, energizing yet grounding, and smooth. Upon opening the bag, the difference in quality is instantly apparent: the radiant, electric-green hue of freshly milled matcha meets the eye. When sifted, whisked, and imbibed, the palate is awash with smooth umami and a delightful, fresh aftertaste uplifts and energizes the senses. This matcha is wonderful on its own, or in a latte and performs beautifully both hot and iced.

Tsuji san is a 5th generation grower and Tsujiki is one of the most highly revered matcha producers in Japan, specializing in the elegant Asahi cultivar. They have won several awards from the Japanese government, including 6 from the ministry of agriculture as well as The 56th Prime Minister's award for excellence in agriculture.  Everything about their tea embodies the spirit of matcha’s ancestral home,  Kyoto Japan.

Our KOMOREBI Matcha is only available in resealable 1-pound bags. We recommend storing your matcha in the refrigerator to maximize and maintain the tea's freshness.
