This is a classic, more heavily oxidized Taiwanese oolong that has been pushed aside and largely ignored in the rush for high mountain oolong. Although this tea does not have a high altitude provenance (it is grown below 300 meters in the Taipei Municipality), it more than stands on its own. Heavily roasted and aged for over twenty years, it has strong notes of black strap molasses, fig, and antique oak, finishing with a rich woodiness coating the mouth and a light sweetness in the back of the throat.
